This is an image of a building that no longer exists. It’s a documentary painting of vanishing landmarks that once dotted the Midwestern landscape and now are fast disappearing from view. The original acrylic painting is 25.5 inches by 63.5 inches. This was a horse stable built in a time when horsepower was just that, when horses were used as the means of tilling the land rather than gasoline powered equipment used today.

Some Paul Wolber paintings are now available as high quality limited edition giclée prints. The colors are of highest level, supervised, hand signed and numbered by the artist to ensure fidelity to the original work. They come matted and are produced with acid free archival material that, with proper care will last for hundreds of years. All editions are strictly limited to 120 after which no more will be produced. The print shown here is from a new painting based on an earlier version done in 2009. The matted work shown comes ready to hang or may be framed professionally in the provided matt. Matted prints as shown here come with a ¼ inch foam-core backing and encased in shrink-wrapped film* for protection in handling and shipping.


Some prints are also available for an even more modest price unmatted and can be shipped in a mailing tube ready to be matted and framed at your local frame shop.

As a teenager hunting pheasant in Illinois, I didn’t realize this bird was introduced rather than a native species. Because it fit into the environment so well it was much later that I learned it has been introduced into America from Eurasia in the 1800’s. 

Although I don’t see this beautiful bird often here in my area of Michigan, there seems to be a good number of these birds in Southeast Michigan and I’ll sometimes see one wander through my yard. This pair was spotted one early morning in the cornfield near us and I’m now hunting them only with a camera and paintbrush.
