This little nuthatch has been coming to my feeder for about
a month. He will quickly grab a sunflower seed then dart off to hide it in a
nearby tree, then hurry back to do it all over again. Seems like a lot of energy
is spent for just one seed at a time. I guess he doesn’t trust that I’ll be
here to fill the bird feeder this winter when it gets cold and snowy out there.
